About Me
My name is Harris Blake-Widdicombe, and I am a full-time student at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario.
It has been a long and winding road to get here. More than twenty years after graduating from Lisgar Collegiate Institute (Class of 1998), I went back to school.
After high school I went tree-planting in Northern Ontario for several years and worked in restaurants and bars for over a decade.
When the global pandemic shut down the world, I binge-watched my favourite show Community and took it as a sign that it was time to go back to school.
Two years of online learning at Algonquin College and two more years on campus at Carleton have brought me here.
I am a full-time student and a part-time cheesemonger. I work a few days a week in the Cheese Department at the Farm Boy near my house.
I live in the Shefford Heritage Housing Co-operative in Centretown, Ottawa. My Audio Documentary is a love letter to my home and my community.
